1. Ice-breaker: Share a bad experience related to something you committed to do. What was it? What was so hard about it? Alternatively, share a good experience.
2. What stands out to you most in Joshua 1:10–18 and why?
3. Read Josh 1:10-11. What’s the relationship between trusting God and preparing both then and now?
4. Read Josh 1:12-15.  What are the reasons their commitments mattered then and what are the reasons your commitments matter now?
5. Have different people read the following verses and report back what they learned.
   1. Ecclesiastes 5:4–5 — Keep your commitments.
   2. Galatians 6:2 — Help carry one another's burdens.
   3. Philippians 2:3–4 — Don't focus only on yourself.
   4. Hebrews 10:24–25 — Encourage one another toward faithfulness.
   5. 1 Peter 4:10 — Be responsible with God's blessings.
6. Is there a commitment, responsibility, or person God has placed in your life that you need to be more faithful to right now? What would faithfulness look like this week?
7. What is one thing God is asking you to start doing, stop doing, or keep doing?
8. How did God use this message to teach, train, challenge, convict, or encourage you?
